United Title Company (formerly United Title Insurance Company) was incorporated in 1975 as a title insurance underwriting company, issuing title insurance to attorneys in private practice in North Carolina. In 1992, United Title became an agency operation representing a number of national title insurance underwriters in the issuance of title insurance products in North Carolina. United Title Company now represents three national underwriters and issues policies throughout the state for commercial, residential and agricultural real estate closings. Gordon Herbert
Senior Counsel and Vice Chairman
Gordon B. Herbert graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1975. From 1975-1981 he was actively involved in private real estate practice. He joined United Title Insurance Co. in 1981 and served as Associate Counsel and VP, until becoming President and General Counsel in 1992. Gordon is a member of the N.C. Bar Association and was admitted in 1975 to the NC and 4th Circuit Bars.
Elizabeth Gilbert

Elizabeth W. Gilbert joined United Title Company as Associate General Counsel in August 2008. Libby is a Raleigh native who graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina in 1997. After 3 years as an elementary school teacher, Libby enrolled in the UNC School of Law where she graduated with honors in 2006. In 2015 Libby became a Co-Owner of United Title Company, a North Carolina Title Agency.
